Recommended Snow Blowers

Here are my picks for snow blowers, sorted by intended use. Just because a snow blower isn't on this list doesn't mean it's not good. This is just a list of snowthrowers I have experience with and can vouch for.

Light Use

If you just have a walkway to clear or only get snow twice a year, I recommend the Toro Power Shovel. It doubles as a power broom so you'll get year-round use from it. It's hard to justify buying a snow blower if you only use it once a year.

Light to Moderate Use

For small driveways and milder climates, my favorite is the Toro 1800. You might also want to look into the Snow Joe 622U.

Moderate Use

This electric start Yard Machines model is what I recommend to friends with medium needs. It's cheap, reliable, and easy to use. If you are looking for a two-stage blower in this price range, you can't beat the Poulan Pro

Heavy Use

When the snow never lets up, it's time to call in the big guns. For that, I recommend the Poulan Pro series or the Yard Machines 26".
