Yard Machine Snowblower

Owned by MTD, a family-owned enterprise out of Cleveland, Ohio, Yard Machines makes snow blowers for value-conscious consumers. From my experience, they're often just as good as anything from the top brands, but priced much more competitively. A Yard Machine snowblower might be right for you if you need a lot of power on a budget.

Yard Machines Snow Fox

This smaller machine has a cut depth of 6 inches, making it suitable for smaller tasks. Like the Toro 1800 and the Snow Joe line of snow throwers, it's great for walkways, decks, and small driveways, especially in latitudes that receive light amounts of snow. If you're looking for an electric snowblower, this is one of the most powerful models. The Snow Fox weights 22 pounds (easy for storage) and has a cut width of 12 inches.

Yard Machines Single-Stage 21" Snow Blower

This gas Yard Machine snowblower has a 21" clearing width and a cut depth of 10", making it good for medium jobs. Its small size makes it easy to maneuver, but it is not CARB compliant, meaning it cannot be sold in the state of California. It weighs 72 pounds, making it lighter than many other gas blowers, but not a lightweight by any means.

Yard Machines 21" Snow Blower Electric Start

This Yard Machines snowblower is very similar to the model above. The big differences are this one has an electric start and more powerful engine. However, it has a slightly shorter cut depth of 10" and is more expensive. It's about the same size as its aforementioned brother, but weighs a bit more at 85 pounds.

Yard Machines Two-Stage 26" Snowblower

This is the most powerful Yard Machines snow blower. Unlike most consumer snowblowers, which are one-stage, this model is two-stage. This lets it handle a greater amount of snow and be used on unpaved surfaces. With a clearing width of 26" and a cut depth of 21", this monster is ready to take on large jobs. It features heftier tires than other models as well as an electric start, but is priced to compete with single-stage blowers from other brands. It weighs 250 pounds, a true heavyweight.

To get an idea of the quality offered by Yard Machines, their parent company, MTD, manufactures low-end snow blowers for Toro. So while not the cream of the crop, they are decent.
